Lightfield Acres

Farm Fresh Eggs and Produce

Lightfield Acres has been in business since 2019. We are a very small, family owned operation. The Lightfield family are Idaho natives who moved to Star in 2018 from the Eagle area and, from the start, had the idea to provide food to the community. We built a large garden and began selling baskets of vegetables as soon as we could. It was such as success that we have decided to expand into a CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture!

With a CSA, you purchase a share at the beginning of the season and enjoy the bounty throughout the season by picking up your basket bi-weekly. The early purchase helps us to buy seeds and get the garden going. Our season runs 20 weeks (end of May to the second week of October).

Each basket will feed up to four people weekly, with some to spare. Please read our CSA agreement as there will be weeks that the baskets may be larger or smaller depending on the weather or pests.

Our eggs are from our free range, very spoiled, chickens.

Flower CSA
We are excited to offer fresh bouquets of flowers from Plant Stamp, LLC. The owner, Shannon Kimmel, grows and sources fresh, locally grown flowers for her bouquets. You can add the flower CSA to your produce share or purchase.  Check out Plant Stamp on Instagram for more flower pictures: @plant.stamp or at www.plantstamp.net.

About Lightfield Acres’ Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program

What is a CSA?

.
Welcome to Lightfield Acres’ Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. A CSA membership allows you to purchase sustainably grown vegetables and eggs in shares or portions of shares at the beginning of the season. As part of your agreement with us, you will receive farm fresh vegetables on a weekly basis. We will plant 30+ different types of vegetables and herbs to distribute to members over the course of the season.

Each basket or share is enough to feed a family of four or a vegetarian couple with moderate vegetable consumption. Some of the products you will see in your baskets are tomatoes, cucumbers (a large variety), summer squash, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, melons, carrots, green beans, onions, garlic, greens, and culinary herbs.

Starting in 2024, the CSA produce baskets will have the choice to add one or two items from local vendors each week. We are excited to partner with these vendors to bring some of their homemade and locally sourced items into your home. Soaps, chocolates, breads, honey, and cheeses are some of the items you can expect to see added to the baskets. Details on each vendor will also be provided with the baskets.
